How to Vote

Voting is Easy and Convenient    

If you're eligible to vote in this election, you can vote online using an internet-connected computer, tablet or smartphone anytime from 10 a.m. on October 15 to 8 p.m. on October 24, 2022.

Look For Your Voter Instruction Letter 

In early October, voters will receive their personalized Voter Instruction Letter in the mail. This letter will contain their Voting PIN (Personal Identification Number) along with the voting website to access the ballot. Enter the voting website provided in your letter into your browser address bar (do not enter it into a search bar). Then, using your PIN and your birthdate, you'll be able to access your online ballot and cast your votes from an internet-connected computer, tablet or smartphone.

Help is Available

If you do not have access to an internet-connected computer, tablet or smartphone, or you require assistance to vote, you can visit a Voter Assistance Centre during hours of operation in the voting period.

The Election Street Team will visit the homes of voters who require at-home voting assistance to help them cast their ballot.  Voters who require this service can call the Elections Office at 905-953-5152 and book an appointment with a member of the Elections Team. This service will be offered during the 10-day voting period, from Saturday, October 15 to Monday, October 24.

Paper Ballot Option (by appointment)

If you wish to vote in person by paper ballot, you can do so by appointment during the 10-day voting period at the following location only.

How to Vote?: Frequently Asked Questions

If a post secondary student currently does not reside in the Town of Newmarket, yet meets the eligibility requirements to vote in this election, they are entitled to vote. The first step is to make sure they are on the Voters' List 

Do not open a letter that is not addressed to you. You can mark on the envelope "Incorrect Address, Return to Sender" and mail it. 

Contact the Election Helpline at (905) 953-51-52 to have your exisiting voting PIN deactivated. You will be issued a new Voter Instruction Letter with a new voting PIN.
