Monday, April 20 at 6 p.m. - Candidate Information Webinar
- The municipalities of Aurora, Markham, Stouffville, Newmarket, as well as York Region jointly host a free, virtual Candidate Information Webinar to provide information about becoming and running as a candidate in this election. Click here for details and to register.
Friday, May 1
- First day to file a nomination for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Regional Councillor, Ward Councillor and School Board Trustee
- There will be an online option available for filing a candidate nomination. Contact elections@newmarket.ca for information and access to the online portal.
Friday, August 21 at 2 p.m.
- Nomination Day - candidate nominations may be filed between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
- This is the last day for candidates to:
- file a nomination
- withdraw a nomination; or,
- change the office for which they are running
Monday, August 24
- The last day for the Town Clerk to certify candidate nomination papers
